Law Adviser Dr. Asif Nazrul has said that more discussions are required to finalize the July Uprising Declaration. 

He made the remark after a meeting with Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus and representatives from all political parties at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka on Thursday evening (January 16).

Addressing the media, Dr. Nazrul said that such a document should be prepared based on consensus and detailed discussions. “Everyone expressed hope that this process will lead to success,” he said.

The adviser mentioned that participants, including political leaders and students, stressed the importance of taking adequate time to prepare the declaration, avoiding unnecessary delays but ensuring no rushed decisions.

In response to a question, he clarified that there are no divisions among political parties regarding the process. 

“The discussions focused on the methodology of deliberation, and we welcome diverse opinions. We see no discord but rather a collective spirit to ensure everyone’s contribution is accurately reflected,” he said.
