US customary report on BD Human Rights

New York: On human rights condition in Bangladesh, US government has released the customary report. Like every year the US while reporting on the human rights condition of different countries of the globe also pointed out Bangladesh situation.
 
 Regarding Bangladesh the US reports that here the rights of the labors is despondent, child labor exists. Besides, there are extra-judicial killings, long time detention of the political leaders also have been mentioned.  
 
At US local time 11am Thursday Secretary of State John Kerry formally released the report at the State department.

The State department of USA every year releases this report on the practice of human rights globally.
 
In the released report on Bangladesh of 2013, it has been told regarding human rights practice that the serious violations in the country includes the rampant arrests, obstruction on freedom of opinion in online, sub-human working condition and denial of rights of laborer.
 
Extra-judicial killings, unlawful detention, weakness of the judiciary and long-time imprisonment before trial have been mentioned in the report.

It has been further mentioned that the government has interfered in the individual rights of the citizens, politically motivated violence, rampant corruption of the government are prevailing as serious problems.     
 
In the report it has been mentioned that some Non Government Organizations are facing informal obstructions in their functioning.

The report also contains the matter of discriminatory behavior towards the women, forced child labor and trafficking and similar discriminatory behavior to the challenged people.

It was further told in the report that in 2013 violence and repression on the religious minority communities continued. Though many government and civil society leaders claimed that those occurred due to political and economic reasons not from religious point of view.

The foreign ministry mentioned that the marriage of under- aged girls, discrimination between male and female and government corruption along with other problems still exist there.

The weakness of rule of law has also enhanced the violation of human rights situation, obstructing the citizens to practice rights.   

The US report has also mentioned that there was no initiatives of the government to stop the repression and killings carried out by the law enforcing agencies.
