JESSORE: A mentally challenged person chopped his father to death and injured his mother critically in Mathpara area of the town early Saturday.

The victim was identified as Wajiullah, 60, resident of the area.

Police sources said that Alauddin chopped his parents indiscriminately at their residence on Friday midnight, leaving them critically injured.

Locals rushed them to Jessore Medical College Hospital where Wajiullah succumbed to his injuries in the morning.

Alauddin was formerly under treatment in Pabna Mental Hospital.

However, police nabbed killer Alauddin.

Officer-in-Charge of Jessore Kotwali Model Thana Emdadul Haque confirmed the matter to banglanews.
