DHAKA: The High Court on Monday issued a legal notice to Law Minister Anisul Haque over submission of nomination paper for the 10th parliamentary polls.    

An HC bench of Justice Saumendra Sarkar issued the notice after receiving a petition in this regard.  

The minister has to explain to the notice within 2 weeks.  

On January 5 polls, Advocate Anisul Haque was elected as Awami League lawmaker from Brahmanbaria-4 constituency unopposed.  

His opponent Hejbur Rahman of Jatiya Party (Manju) who was barred from the election for canceling nomination alleged that Anisul submitted his candidacy when he was counsel of Anti-Corruption Commission.     

On February 11, he filed an allegation with electoral tribunal against Anisul.
