KHAGRACHARI: A member of United People`s Democratic Front (UPDF) was shot dead and another sustained bullet injury by miscreants in Dighinala upazila of the district on Sunday morning.

The deceased was identified as Sudristi Chakma, 37, son of Nitai Chakma of Babuchari area.

Officer-in-Charge of Dighinala Thana Shahadat Hossain Titu said miscreants shot Sudristi Chakma and Hridi Chakma while they were taking tea at a local tea stall around 8:30am, leaving Sudristi Chakma dead on the spot.
