The main Eid-ul-Fitr jamaat (congregation) in Dhaka will be held at 8:30 am at the National Eidgah Maidan, with thousands of people expected to gather for prayers.
Additionally, for residents of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), a large congregation will be held at the old trade fair ground near the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center.
National Eidgah Maidan
Approximately 35,000 men and women are expected to perform Eid prayers at the National Eidgah Maidan. The congregation will be led by Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Khatib Hafez Maulana Mufti Mohammad Abdul Malek, with Qari Muhammad Habibur Rahman serving as the muazzin.
Considering the possibility of rain or adverse weather, an alternative congregation has been scheduled at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque at 9:00 am.
Dhaka South City Corporation Administrator Md. Shahjahan Mia stated that arrangements have been made to accommodate worshippers comfortably, with special provisions for dignitaries, diplomats, and members of the public.
Five Eid jamaats at Baitul Mukarram
As per an Islamic Foundation press release, five Eid congregations will take place at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque:
• First congregation: 7:00 am (Led by Senior Pesh Imam Hafez Mufti Maulana Muhibbullahil Baki)
• Second congregation: 8:00 am (Led by Pesh Imam Hafez Mufti Maulana Mizanur Rahman)
• Third congregation: 9:00 am (Led by Maulana Mufti Waliur Rahman Khan)
• Fourth congregation: 10:00 am (Led by Mushtaq Ahmed of the Islamic Foundation)
• Fifth and final congregation: 10:45 am (Led by Mufti Md Abdullah of the Islamic Foundation)
In case of any imam’s absence, Deputy Director of the Islamic Foundation Maulana Md Zakir Hossain will step in as a replacement.
Other major Eid jamaats in Dhaka
• Jamiat Ahl-e-Hadith: Main congregation at 7:30 am at Dhaka University’s central playground.
• Dhaka University (DU) Mosques: Two congregations at Masjidul Jamia, DU’s central mosque, at 8:00 am and 9:00 am. Additional congregations at Salimullah Muslim Hall Mosque, Dr. Muhammad Shahidullah Hall Mosque, and Baitun Noor Jame Mosque at 8:00 am.
• Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET): Main congregation at 7:15 am at the central playground. In case of unfavorable weather, prayers will be held at BUET Central Mosque (7:30 am), Baksi Bazar Baitus Salam Mosque (8:00 am), and Azad Residential Area Mosque (8:00 am).

DNCC special Eid jamaat
DNCC Chief Executive Officer Abu Sayeed Md. Kamruzzaman announced that DNCC will host a large-scale Eid congregation for the first time at the old trade fair ground.
Preparations include a capacity for 10,000 worshippers, designated prayer areas for women, adequate ablution facilities, and security measures. The congregation will begin at 8:30 am, led by Qari Ghulam Mustafa, with Mufti Jubair Ahmed Al-Azhari as the alternate imam.
Authorities have urged worshippers to arrive early and follow security guidelines for a smooth and peaceful prayer experience.
