Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) filed 1,549 cases for traffic rule violations in different areas of the capital.

The cases were filed during a drive by DMP's Traffic Division on Wednesday (April 9).

Deputy Commissioner of Media and Public Relations Muhammad Talebur Rahman confirmed the matter on Thursday (April 10).

In addition to the cases, 274 vehicles were dumped and 117 others were towed.

The official said the traffic drives will continue to maintain order on the roads of Dhaka city.
