DHAKA: Election Commissioner Mohammad Abu Hafiz on Wednesday termed the violence during elections natural.
“It is unnatural not to have violence during elections,” he said while talking to journalists at his election commission secretariat office in the afternoon.
He also said, “Neighbouring India also faces violence on their election days. But we are experiencing less violence than them as we are very strict.”
He also advised the candidates to go to the High Court if they do not get remedies of polls-violence.
Hafiz also praised the role of army personnel in countrywide elections.
