MADARIPUR: Four people were killed and 15 others injured in a road accident on Dhaka-Barisal highway in Mostafapur area of the district early Thursday.

The deceased were identified as Shipon Howlader, 25, driver of the human hauler, Shefali Begum, 40, of Kalkini upazila, Chompa Akhter, 14, Happy Akter, 18, residents of Kendua area of the district.

Witnesses said that a Dhaka-bound passenger bus collided head- on with a human hauler in the area around 12:30am, leaving four people dead on the spot and 15 others of the human hauler injured critically.

The critically injured were rushed to Madaripur Sadar Hospital and Faridpur Medical College Hospital.

Officer-in-Charge of Madaripur Sadar Police Station Mofazzel Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.
