The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecasted rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty winds in parts of the country over the next 120 hours from 9am today (Saturday).

According to the BMD bulletin, scattered rain or thundershowers accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are likely in a few places over Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, and at isolated spots in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, and Barishal divisions.

A trough of low lies over West Bengal and nearby areas, while a seasonal low prevails over the South Bay, the bulletin said.

Rainfall is expected to decrease and both day and night temperatures may rise slightly across the country in the coming days.

Yesterday’s highest temperature was 34.0°C, recorded at Khepupara (Barishal) and Khulna, while the lowest was 19.8°C at Tetulia in Rangpur today.
