Dhaka ranked first among cities with the worst air quality on Sunday morning, with an AQI score of 176, classified as "unhealthy."

The day before, the capital recorded a score of 173. Karachi, Lahore, and Kathmandu followed with AQI scores of 168, 159, and 158, respectively.

The Air Quality Index (AQI) in Bangladesh measures five pollutants and warns of serious health risks when levels exceed 150.

Dhaka's air quality typically worsens in winter and improves during the monsoon.

Air pollution causes around seven million deaths globally each year, according to the WHO.
