MYMENSINGH: At least five people were killed and 25 others injured as a passenger bus plunged into a roadside ditch in Mirkandapara area under Sadar upazila of the district on Saturday.

The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Police sources said that a passenger bus plunged into a roadside ditch as its driver lost his control over the steering in the area around 11:30am while coming from a Mazar of Netrakona, leaving five pilgrims dead on the spot and 25 others injured critically.

The critically injured were rushed to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital and other local clinins.

Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali Model Thana Golam Sarwar confirmed the matter to banglanews.
