DHAKA: A pickup van driver was killed under the wheels of a train in Uttara area of the city on Saturday noon.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Karim, 45, son of one Abul Quashem, hailed from Rajapur village of Feni Sadar.

Witnesses said a train knocked Abdul Karim at Sector-4 of Uttara area while he was crossing the rail-track around 1:00pm, leaving him injured critically.

Local people rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where he succumbed to his injuries around 5:00pm.

In-Charge of DMCH Police Outpost M Mozammel Haque confirmed the matter to banglanews.
