Law enforcement agencies arrested 1,538 more crime suspects in the last 24 hours as part of a nationwide operation to maintain law and order, according to a press release from the Police Headquarters.

Among them, 1,048 were held on the basis of previous cases and warrants, while 490 were detained on various criminal charges. 

Authorities also seized a foreign-made pistol, a revolver, a shutter gun, one magazine, six bullets, and three cartridges. 

With these arrests, the total number of detainees over the past 16 days has reached 21,777.
