DHAKA: Sajeeb Wazed Joy, son of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, greeted countrymen on occasion of 95th birthday of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.     

In this regard, Joy posted a status on facebook at around 12:30pm Monday.

The status reads as below:

“Today is Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, my grandfather`s birthday. My greetings to all Bengalis on this historic day.

I`m returning from Rangpur in North Bengal. On both sides I see green crop fields, irrigation pumps running. Before the Awami League came to power this time of the year these fields would be dry and cracked. No crops could grow because there was no electricity. People would die every year at this time from famine. Not one person has died from famine in the last five years of our Government. Bangabandhu`s daughter, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, my mother is making his dream of a Golden Bengal come true.
