Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has pushed 22 more Bangladeshi nationals into the country through the Kalenga border in Chunarughat upazila of Habiganj early Friday.
Company Commander of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Kalenga Border Outpost, Zakaria Ibn Kader, confirmed the matter to Banglanews.
He said BGB members found the group inside Bangladeshi territory after they had been pushed in around dawn.
During primary questioning, all of them claimed to be residents of Kurigram district.
The group includes nine men, eight women and five children, he said.
Seventeen of them had worked at brick kilns in Haryana, India, the official added.
The victims said BGB that BSF picked them up from their workplace, blindfolded them with black cloth, and brought them by bus to the border before releasing them into Bangladesh.
BGB provided food and shelter at a nearby school. Full identification is being verified before further legal steps are taken.
Earlier, on 26 May, BSF pushed in 19 people through the same border. With this latest incident, a total of 41 people have been pushed into Bangladesh through the Kalenga border in two phases. The previous group had been brought to the border by helicopter and later sent home following legal procedures.
