International Crimes Tribunal has issued an arrest warrant against former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal after formally accepting charges in the 2024 ‘July Genocide’ case.
The charges were also accepted against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun.
The order was passed on Sunday (June 1) by a three-member tribunal led by Chairman Justice Md Golam Mortuza Majumder.
The other members of the tribunal are Justice Md Shafiul Alam Mahmud and retired district and sessions judge Md Mohitul Haque Enam Chowdhury.
The case involves allegations of crimes committed during the anti-discrimination student movement in July and August 2024.
