KOLKATA: Teesta deal, the issue of sharing Teesta River water between Bangladesh and India, would be resolved through discussion, if Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) wins in the Lok Sabha election next.
BJP National Executive Committee member, also a BJP candidate from South Kolkata Center in the election, Tathagata Roy told banglanews at Kolkata Press Club on Thursday.
Mr Ray met the journalist there on the day after his candidacy was announced officially for the Center, one of the heavyweight Constituencies in West Bengal Lok Shaba.
He straightly made the WB Chief Bengal responsible for barring in implementation of the Teesta Water Sharing Treaty saying, “BJP remained firmly determined to keep a good relation with Bangladesh.”
The BJP leader also said the controversial female writer Taslima Nasreen would be brought back to Kolkata with due honour, if BJP wins in the polls next.
