BAGERHAT: A man was killed and 12 others injured in a road accident on Khulna-Mongla highway at Rampal upazila of the district on Saturday evening.

The deceased was indentified as Abdus Sobahan, 42, hailed from Fultala village under Betagi Upazila of Barguna district.

Bagerhat highway out post In-Charge Abdul Mannan told banglanews, “A Khulna-bound passenger from the bus plunged into a roadside ditch at Tentulia Bridge area on Khulna-Mongla highway while trying to overtake a truck, leaving the man dead on the spot and 12 people injured.

The injured were sent to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital, he added.
