DHAKA: A SSC examinee, who was burnt in petrol by his friend in Sylhet, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Monday.
Duty doctor of Burn Unit Dr Mousumi confirmed this matter to banglanews in the noon.
The deceased was identified as Shamsul Haque Shaon, 17, son of Enamul Haque Sohag hailed from Sylhet Sadar upazila.
Shaon took part in Secondary School Certificate exams this year from Sylhet R Raihan International School.
Enamul Haque Sohag told banglanews that his son Shaon was burnt on last Saturday by some of his friends, including Don Hasan Samrat, when was returning home from MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital playground.
Shaon’s friends poured petrol on him and set fire to him.
He was rushed to the Osmani Medical College Hospital and later was transferred to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital for better treatment, he added.
A case has been filed at Sylhet Sadar Thana in this connection.
