DHAKA: A college student committed suicide by hanging himself from ceiling fan in city’s Jatrabari area on Monday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Anik Sarker, 18, an HSC examination candidate of Abdul Mannan School and College and son of Suresh Chandra Sarker.

Uncle of the deceased Subhash Sarker told banglanews that Anik asked some money from his mother but she refused.

Anik became upset over the matter and committed suicide by hanging himself from ceiling fan, around 3:00pm, behind the back of family members.

However, he was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where on duty doctors declared him dead.

The In-Charge of DMCH police outpost Inspector M Mozammel Haque confirmed the matter to banglanews.
