DHAKA: Controversy has again created on Musa Ibrahim’s Everest scaling for the first time by a Bangladesh. Some people claim that Musa’s name is absent in ‘Nepal Parbat’, a periodical published by Nepal Mountaineering Association.
Some say that names of people, who climb from Nepal side, are only printed in the Nepalese periodical.
Musa Ibrahim in a Facebook post on Monday said, “I have noticed that a few persons are propagating against me in 2/3 media outlets in Bangladesh, that I did not conquer the summit of the Mount Everest in 2010.”
He further said, “I would like to unequivocally state that, with the blessings of almighty Allah and millions of Bangladeshis, I was fortunate enough to reach the summit of the Mount Everest through North Route, Tibet, China on 23 May, 2010.”
In his post Musa said that since he is outside the country in a family visit, he will present all the evidences once more to the nation and the media as proof of authenticity of his climb to the highest peak of the planet.
He also urged all concerned to refrain from maligning his character and identity.
Musa also presented a statement on a letterhead of the Everest Academy.
Banglanews investigations find that people who climb from Nepal side are recognised in the Nepal-based periodical.
Another Bangladeshi Muhit’s first time climb to the Everest in 2011 from Tibet side is not mentioned in ‘Nepal Parbat’. His second time scaling along with another Bangladeshi climber Nishat from Nepal side in 2012 is recognised in the periodical.
