DHAKA: A meeting between power secretaries of Bangladesh and India will take place with a view to settling joint working deals.

A press release issued by Indian High Commission confirmed the matter on Tuesday. The meeting will be held here on April 2 and 3 (Wednesday, Thursday).

A high level Indian delegation led by power Secretary PK Sinha will meet with Monowar Islam, Secretary, Ministry of Power, Bangladesh.

It is the 7th Joint Steering Committee meeting and the last meeting was held in New Delhi on June 26-27 last year.

Indian High Commission said that the meeting will be preceded by a meeting of the Joint Working Group.

The two sides are expected to review the current status of cooperation in the power sector and further intensify efforts to expand such cooperation in the meeting.
