DHAKA: Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations will begin from Thursday.

A total of 11.41 lakhs students will take part in the examinations this year under eight education boards.

Education minister Nurul Islam Nahid told media at his secretariat office Wednesday.

The minister said the theoretical examinations will begin on April 3 and will continue till May 8.

The practical examinations will end by May 15.

This year, examinations in 25 subjects will be held in creative method.

A total of 9,24,171 students will sit for HSC exams. Among them, 4,67, 706 are male and four lakh, 56 thousand and 465 are female students.

A total of 1,07,557 madrasa students will attend the Alim exams. Among them, 63 thousand and 970 are male and 43 thousand and 587 are female students.

One lakh, 4 thousand and 669 students will attend the vocational examinations.
