CHITTAGONG: A woman was killed and several others were injured in train accident in Abu Nagar area under Mirsarai upazila of the district on Monday noon.                    

The deceased was identified as Nasima Akter, 35, wife of Nazim Uddin of Ramu upazila of Cox’s bazar.

Witnesses said that three compartments of Dhaka-bound Karnafuli Express train derailed in the area at 12:30pm, leaving one dead on the spot and injuring several others.       

Confirming the matter, Railway eastern region chief engineer Mahbubul Alam told banglanews that as due to double line in the area, so rail service on Dhaka-Chittagong route remained normal.
