In a continued nationwide anti-crime operation, police have arrested 1,683 crime suspects in the last 24 hours.

According to the Police Headquarters, 1,124 of those arrested were wanted in previous cases or had pending warrants, while 559 were apprehended on various new charges.

During the crackdown, authorities also seized one locally made gun, one bullet, and five sharp machetes.

The operation is part of the ongoing effort to strengthen law enforcement and reduce crime across the country.
