DHAKA: A young man, who video graphed a scene of slapping his female friend in front of other friends for denying his proposal and uploaded the clip on Facebook, has been taken to court.

Khilkhet Thana police on Monday arrested the 17-year old boy and sent him to court on Tuesday.

Police is also trying to arrest other people, who helped the boy in uploading the video on Facebook’s ‘Mojalos’ page.

The boy, earlier on September 5, 2013, called his female friend and proposed her for love affairs. After being refused, the boy then slapped the girl in front of the other friends.

Police assistant commissioner of Cantonment Zone Mashruf Hossain watched the video during his conference in Japan. After returning to Dhaka, Hossain informed Khilkhet Thana Officer-in-Charge.

Police, later, nabbed the boy and sent to court filling a case under Women and Children Repression Act.

Mentioning police’s ‘zero tolerance’ to eve-teasing and repression to women and children, Mashruf Hossain requested people to inform police whenever they see these kinds of incidents.
