HABIGANJ: Two people were killed as a microbus knocked them on Dhaka-Sylhet highway at Madhabpur upazila of the district on Tuesday afternoon.

The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Local sources said a Sylhet-bound rashly driven microbus knocked them down while crossing the road in Ratanpur Bus Stand area of the upazila around 3:45pm, leaving them dead on the spot.

On information, Shayestaganj Thana police recovered the bodies and sent them to Habiganj Sadar Modern Hospital for an autopsy.

Later, highway police seized the microbus but its driver managed to flee.

Sub-Inspector of Shayestaganj Highway Thana Kamal Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.
