DHAKA: A fire broke out at a slum in Bhasantek area of the city on Tuesday evening.

The reason behind the origination of fire could not be known immediately.

Sources said the fire originated from a cotton shop around 7:30pm and spread out to adjacent areas.

On information, five fire fighting units rushed in and doused the blaze.

Telephone Operator of Fire Service Atiqur Rahman told banglanews: “The extent of loss from the fire could not be known immediately.”
