RAJSHAHI: A schoolgirl was electrocuted at Charghat upazila in the district on Tuesday.

The deceased, Marufa Khatun, 14, student of class-VII of Holidagachhi Girls High School, was identified as a daughter of one Sadek Ali.

Sub-Inspector Mizanur Rahman, In-charge of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) Police Outpost, confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Marufa came in contact with an electric wire while opening the refrigerator, leaving her critically injured, he added.

Relatives rushed her to RMCH where on duty doctor declared her dead.

An unnatural death (UD) case was filed with the thana in this connection.
