COX’S BAZAR: Navy and Coast Guard personnel on Wednesday confirmed the recovery of two bodies out four missing students of Ahsanullah University from the Bay.

The rescue operation is underway to find out the bodies of other two missing students--Sabbir Hassan and Uday Mahmud.

The salvation team recovered bodies of Shahriar Islam Noman and Golam Rahim from 9:00am to 1:00am on Wednesday some 43 hours more after the tragedy.

Earlier claims arose that the rescuers found the bodies of the four missing students in the morning. Later, the coast guard confirmed that two missing students remained still missing.

When banglanews contacted the families of Sabbir and Uday, they told that their dear ones were not among the two, who were recovered in the morning.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Saint Martin’s Coast Guard Commander Lieutenant Shahid Al Ahsan said, “Two bodies were recovered from the western side of the Saint Martin Island.”

Meanwhile, Syed Alam, a local businessman, told banglanews that they found two floating bodies in their area, which the coastguard did not confirmed.

Rescue works are underway, said Shahid.

Uday’s family said, one of their family members are staying in the coast guard’s ship and he did not confirmed about the body’s recovery.

On Monday, two students of the university died and four went missing and three were hospitalized after they drowned in the Bay at Saint Martin when a giant wave swept them away.
