DHAKA: The agitating doctors of Bangladesh Institute of Research & Rehabilitation in Diabetes, Endocrine and Metabolic Disorders (BIRDEM) called off their strike on Wednesday.
The decision came from a meeting with health ministry officials and leaders of Bangladesh Medical Association in the afternoon.
In the meeting, the authorities assured the agitating doctors that the punitive steps against those who were involved in the Sunday evening assault which began after an under-treatment patient died at the hospital.
After the meeting, Dr Tanzina Hossain of Endocrinology Department at the hospital told reporters.
