COX’S BAZAR: A ban has been imposed asking tourists not to go for bath in the Bay in Saint Martins until further notice is issued after demarking danger zone in the area.
Cox’s Bazar District Administration and Beach Management Committee took the decision in a meeting at deputy commissioner’s office on Thursday noon.
The meeting also decided to appoint life guard worker at the beach and leaflet will be distributed among tourists to create awareness among them.
The decision came after some 34 students fall victim to giant wave at the beach on Pahela Baishakh. Of them, four students were killed and two are still missing in the accident.
