1 killed in city terror attack

DHAKA: A man, who was injured after beaten by local goons, succumbed to his injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital in the city early Friday.

The deceased was identified as Ruhul Anowar Khan, 40, hailed from Brahmandi village of Babuganj upazila of Barisal, who resided at South Banasree of the city with the family.

Victims’ brother-in-law Kamal told banglanews, “Ruhul was sitting at Dakkhin Bangla Ekota Songha at Nandipara in Khilgaon area of the city at 5:30pm Thursday.”

At that time, a group of local goons including Alaudddin, Taouhid and Salauddin attacked and beat him mercilessly, leaving him critically injured.

He was rushed to DMCH where he succumbed to his injuries early Friday.

The reason behind the attacks could not be known immediately.

Ruhul joined Border Guard Bangladesh but cut off for being unfit during training, he used to work in an NGO.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, DMCH police outpost in-charge Sub-Inspector Fazlul Rahman said Khilgaon thana have been informed in this reared.
