DHAKA: A schoolgirl allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in capital’s Shyampur area on Saturday night.

The deceased was identified as Samia Akter, 13, student of class eight, daughter of Kabir Mollah and resident of the area.

Hafijur Rahman, brother of the deceased,, said that she committed suicide by hanging herself from ceiling fan at her room around 9:00 pm.

She was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where on duty doctor declared her dead around 10:20 pm.

The body was sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy.

The reason behind the suicide could not be known yet.
