DHAKA: The member countries of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) have agreed to promote the regional cooperation identifying poverty as the main adversary.
The countries have also given their consent to ensure the good governance in the economic sector and improve the citizen service through maximum use of technology.
Cabinet Secretary M Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan was addressing a press conference at a city hotel after attending the second meeting of the Cabinet Secretaries of the SAARC Member States.
The third meeting will be held at Pakistan in 2015 while the fourth one will be held at Nepal in 2016, he said.
Issues related to increase of regional cooperation; poverty alleviation, child and maternal death rate reduction, obtaining Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) were discussed at the 2-day meeting which began Saturday.
