DHAKA: Armed Police Battalion (APBn) personnel detained three passengers with a gold bar weighing 500-gram and 139 grams gold jewelry from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the city on Wednesday morning.

The detainees are identified as Awlad, Sharif Mandal and Rintu. 

Sources said that the law enforcers held the passengers who arrived in Dhaka at 7:00am by flights coming from Singapore and Malaysia. 

Confirming the matter, APBn Senior ASP Alamgir Hossain Shimul told banglanews, “The estimated price of the gold is about Tk 20 lakhs.”
