NOAKHALI: A kidnapped businessman was rescued form Bangla Bazar area on Laxmipur-Noakhali road on Saturday after a day of his abduction from Alaipur union of Begumganj upazila of the district.

The 42-year old businessman, Abul Bashar was kidnapped by a gang of kidnappers for a ransom of Tk 5-lakh.

However, he was freed and dropped in Bangla Bazaar area of the district around 10:30 am.

Abul Bashar informed her wife about the release immediately. On information, his wife along with law enforcers rescued him from the area and taken to the office of Assistant Superintendent of Police of Begumganj Circle.

Begumganj Circle ASP Ehsanul Kabir confirmed the matter to banglanews.
