DHAKA: In a latest development, the government has made a massive reshuffle in the police administration of Narayanganj after the incidents of abductions, disappearance and killings in the district.
A total of 81 police personnel—two officers-in-charge, 40 sub-inspectors and 39 assistant sub-inspectors—were transferred on Thursday.
Additional IGP (Inspector General of Police) Jalaluddin Ahmed Chowdhury made the disclosure to banglanews in the night.
Narayanganj Police Super Dr Khandaker Muhid Uddin said the transfers were made as part of routine works.
Sources said Officer-in-Charge of district DB Mahbubur Rahman and its inspector Abdul Awal, also the IO of the murder case, were sent to Barisal Range.
Besides, Narsingdi DB Inspector Mamunur Rashid Mondal has been brought in and made investigation officer of the case.
Three officials of Rapid Action Battalion-11 who were also withdrawn before they were sent on forced retirement.
