No certificate to RMCH interns demanded

RAJSHAHI: Journalists asked the authorities concerned not to provide certificate to the intern doctors of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) as they attacked journalists and refused to treat.

Another demand is also placed to move the case filed against the intern doctors under speedy trial.

Speakers placed the demands at a human-chain program at Saheb Bazar Zero Point in Rajshahi on Saturday morning.

A committee against repression on journalists in Rajshahi organized the human-chain as the intern doctors declined to provide medical treatment to journalists as well as attacked on them.

Speakers at the human-chain program said that patients are not safe to the hands of this intern doctors as they dared decline to provide treatment to the patients and behaved rude with them with sticks and rods during their internship.

The journalists from the program requested Rajshahi and Dhaka university vice-chancellors and the authorities concern not to provide certificates to them who were involved in the attacks.

Rajshahi Press Club president Anwarul Alam, Rajshahi Journalist Union general secretary Mamun-or-Rashid, Rajshahi journalists welfare trust chairman SM Kader, its former chair Liakat Ali and journalists Sardar Abdur Rahman, Mominul Islam Babu and Zabid Apu spoke at the program with committee against repression president SM Shaju in the chair.
