CHITTAGONG: Two people were electrocuted in Firingi Bazar area under Kotwali Thana of the district on Sunday noon.

The deceased were identified as Ishtiaq Hossain, 15, a student of class-IX of Jatra Mohan (JM) Sen High School, son of Ismail Hossain, hailed from Iqbal Road area and Gopinath Dutta, 35, son of Mrinal Kanti Dutta.

JM Sen High School Headmaster Jahirul Islam said Ishtiaq went out from the school during Tiffin period and came in contact with an electric wire adjacent to a road around 1:30pm.

Meanwhile, Gopinath Dutta came to save the schoolboy and he also came in contact with the electricity, leaving them injured critically.

They were rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where doctor declared them dead.

CMCH Police Outpost duty officer Mohammad Jahangir confirmed the matter to banglanews.
