DHAKA: Dhaka district four-stroke CNG-run Auto Rickshaw Drivers’ Union observed a sit-in demonstration in front of the National Press Club on Wednesday to press for their 8-point demand.
They staged the demonstration at 10:30am where drivers of auto-rickshaws plying on different routes of the city took part.
Their demands include, no more deposit than that of government fixed TK 600, no more lawsuit filing and vehicle dumping in the name of query of the passengers, making CNG’s economic life not more than nine years, providing licenses to the skilled driver and renewal of the licenses on soft condition and others.
CNG-run Auto Rickshaw Drivers’ Union president Rafiqul Islam, Union advisor Bahrane Sultan Bahar, senior vice president Chunnu Chudhury, general secretary Abdul Maruf, office secretary Mustak Ahmed and treasurer Abdul Jalill among others, took part in the sit-in.
