DHAKA: The elite force, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Tuesday faced another allegation of murder in Bhairab of Kishoreganj district.

RAB-14 commanding officer Major Sakib Siddique of Bhairab RAB Camp tortured one Shahnoor Alam to death, members of the victim’s family alleged.

They brought the allegation organizing a press briefing at Jatiya Press Club auditorium.

Earlier on May 6, Shahnoor Alam died at Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital after being allegedly nabbed and tortured by RAB personnel.

Younger brother of Shahnoor, Mehedi Hasan claimed that a team of RAB personnel led by Major Sakib Siddique nabbed his brother Shahnoor on April 29.

He also claimed that the law enforcers tortured his brother mercilessly and filed false cases against him.

Shahnoor was produced before the court on May 1, later he was admitted to the hospital on May 4, he added.

Other two members of his family were also present in the briefing urging fair justice in this issue.
