DHAKA: The grand rally of Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum began at the Supreme Court premise in the city amid the police cordon on Saturday morning.

Some 60-70 lawyers were seen in the rally around 10:00am. 

With Supreme Court Lawyers Association president Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon in the chair the rally started with recitation from the Holy Quran.

Advocate Golam Mostafa recited from the holy Quran.

Earlier in the morning, law enforcers have locked all gates of Supreme Court (SC) and Bar Council in a bid to prevent lawyers’ rally.

Police also detained 15 lawyers when they attempted to join the rally. 

Earlier, Supreme Court Lawyers Association called the grand rally, protesting the kidnappings and killings across the country, interferences on judiciary and killing of Narayanganj Bar Lawyer Advocate Chandan Kumar.
