DHAKA: A minor boy drowned in a pond in Char Hazighat area of Kamrangirchar in the city on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as M Jibon Ali, 12, son of M Sha Alam of the area.

The victim’s uncle said, “Jibon went for bath at a pond in the area on the noon and drowned there. Hearing the other children’s hue and cry there, we rescued Jibon and rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.”

Later, on-duty Dr Moshiur declared him dead at the hospital.

 The boy worked at a chocolate shop, told the man.
