DHAKA: Police in several drives detained nine people along with huge arms from Mirpur area in the capital on Tuesday. 

The identity of the arrestees could not be known immediately.

Imtiaz Ahmed, Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) of Mirpur zone confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said the law enforcers are conducting the drives started from 2:30pm and still it is on. 

During the drives, they arrested nine people from the area and seized two foreign made pistols, 28 rounds of bullets and huge home made lethal weapons.
