NILPHAMARI: Two people were killed as lightning struck them At Dimla and Sayedpur upazilas of the district on Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Mini Begum, 24, wife of Faruq Hossain, resident of Sadar union under Dimla upazila and Mohammad Ali, 50, resident of Koyanijpara of Syedpur upazila.

Locals said lightning struck Mini Begum while she was returning home along with cattle.

On the other hand, Mohammad Ali was struck while he was sitting by the window of his house. 

Ali was rushed to Syedpur Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, a spot account of the incident.
