FENI: Rail communication to port city Chittagong with the other parts of the country has resumed after a five-hour halt due to derailment of a container train in Sadarpur area of the district on Wednesday.
Train movement became normal at 9:00am of the day moments later the rescue operation is finished.
Train movement on Dhaka-Chittagong and Sylhet-Chittagong routes came to halt since the three compartments of a Dhaka-bound cargo train from Chittagong derailed in the area at 4:00am.
Later, a relief train pulled up the derailed ones.
District Railway Police In-Charge Mejbah Alam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
