NARSINGDI: A man was chopped to death by dacoits in west Basail under Sadar Upazila of the district on Wednesday morning.

The deceased was identified as Hazi Sultan Khan, 65.

Sources said that breaking door a gang of robbers entered into the house of the victim and looted eight mobile phones, five tolas of gold and Tk5 lakhs. 

Meanwhile, the dacoits hacked Sultan Khan with knives as he came to know one’s identity, leaving him dead on the spot.

Confirming the matter, Narsingdi Model Thana Officer-in-Charge KM Kashem told banglanews, “The body was sent to Narsingdi District Hospital morgue.”

A cocktail was recovered from the spot, he added.
