BANDARBAN: Brigadier General Sayeed Ahammad Ali, regional commander of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Battalion-31, on Sunday said they would ask the Myanmar's Border Guard Police (BGP) why they have brought such incident.
He also said, “A sector commander-level flag meting between the two countries is scheduled to be held on June 5. We will seek reply over the incident from them.”
“They (BGP) staged many dramas and initiated propaganda against us after the incident. We also will seek reply over them,” he said.
Sayeed Ahammad Ali made the disclosures while briefing the journalists at BGB 31 Battalion office on Sunday noon.
Regarding the issue, BGB commander told: “We shall carry out friendship as long as it will not cause us any harm.”
He also said BGB increased power at the Myanmar frontier.
The BGB official also declared to give Tk 5 lakh to the family of the deceased BGB man Naik Mizanur Rahman.
Earlier, BGP handed over the body of Mizanur Rahman on Saturday evening.
On Friday (May 30), BGP exchanged fire with BGB in Naikkhangchari frontier near international pillar no-52 at Panchhari border after BGP denied handing over the body of BGB member, whom they shot dead on Wednesday after abduction.
